The result of so-called elections must be unambiguously rejected
The European Congress of Ukrainians / Європейський Конґрес Українців condemns in the strongest possible terms the illegal elections in the temporary occupied territories of Ukraine.
Since 2014, Russia has organised multiple fake referendums and elections for international and Russian domestic audiences. This parody of ‘democratic participation’ is in total contradiction to international law and the constitution of Ukraine.
The result of these so-called elections must be unambiguously rejected. Active participants in such elections should be held criminally liable and sanctioned. Foreign observers attempting to legitimise the results of this farce should bear the consequences of being the accomplices of Russia’s latest cynical ploy.
